Paul Jeurissen is a professional photographer specialized in bicycle and travel photography.

In 1981 he cycled the TransAmerica trail. During this trip he not only met his future wife Grace Johnson, but also fell in love with photographing the American landscapes, people and the bicycle journey itself. Back in Amsterdam he studied photography at the Fotovakschool Lex Werkheim Instituut and John del Campa Studio.

In the following years they have taken numerous bicycle/photography trips – totaling more than 4 years over 4 continents. Paul is best known for his pioneering new photographic style “Cycling Landscapes” from the 1990’s ; a small red cyclist shows how enormous/monumental the surrounding landscape is, and “Cycling Culture” ; the bicycle traveler in contact with other cultures. These themes have been published in national and international bicycle publications such as the “Woman in Red” photo essay in Adventure Cycling magazine.

In 2010 Paul & Grace started on a multi-year bicycle journey/project around the world. The theme of this project (and blog) is; “Bicycling around the world in search of inspiring cycle images”. The challenge will be to photograph the different bicycle cultures around the world, and also the feeling of traveling by bicycle; unexpected adventures, contact with other cultures and cycling through monumental scenery.
